Andreas Källman
 I
attended my first salsa course in 1999 at Mälarsalens dance
school in Stockholm. Dancing provided me with tremendous amounts
of enjoyment but I didn’t continue dancing Salsa until 2005/2006
when I started dancing at Salsa Sabrosa. That which made me love
salsa was the joy in the dance and all the nice people I met
The
style that was most appealing to me was the Cuban dance style.
Me and my friend started going as many extra courses as we could
fit at Salsa Sabrosa. To learn quicker we also started practicing
at home and going out to different Salsa clubs. After having danced
for a couple of months I started dancing rueda in Rueda-Lund
During
my dancing career I have been inspired by a number of different
teachers. I have danced at salsa congresses in Stockholm and Gothenburg,
danced for many different teachers at Salsa Sabrosa, Salsa Energia
and during the last semester I’ve danced at Cuba Baila.
I have been a member of the Sabrosa group with which we performed
at, among other places, the Scandinavian Salsa Congress in Gothenburg.
This was a fantastic experience
In
January 2007 I went to Cuba on a salsa trip with Stine Ortvad.
The trip lasted a little more than two weeks and during this time
we practiced salsa, afro-cuban dances, rumba, cha cha cha and
son daily. During the evenings we enjoyed the Cuban culture and
went to concerts with many of the famous Cuban salsa groups
I
have tried a number of different dances except for salsa, some
examples are bugg, lindy hop, samba, different hip hop dances
and just recently I started dancing tango. Since I was a child
I have always been active in different sports. I have among other
things practiced a number of different martial arts that have
increased my coordination and agility. This has been a great help
when learning to dance
I’m
looking forward to being able to spread my joy and love for salsa
to all the wonderful students at Salsa Sabrosa, see you at the
course and on the dance floor!
