Malte Lewan

I
have danced salsa since the spring of 2003. I took as many courses
as possible in the beginning. The first one and a half years I
danced Cuaban style. I have taken classes for Marcelo Cea, Carlos
Cea and even a shorter course held by Reynold Prieto Aguilera.
I have danced rueda for Marcelo, Lisa and Robin and lately during
a longer period in Miamiruedan and also in Rueda Lund
When
Johan and Alexandra Gomez started their crossbody courses in 2004
on Salsa Sabrosa I changed my direction. Besides Johan and Alexandras
courses and the courses for Robin and Lisa I went to weekend workshops
in crossbody that Rigoberto Gadea held in Malmo. The next year
in 2005 I danced LA Style for Orlando Ahumada in Helsingburg.
2006 became my year of Copenhagen when I first danced for Anh
och Sabine (New York Style on 2) and then for Fernando Riofrio
(on 1), the winner of the Danish championship
I
have been on a couple of l crossbody congressesr. Some of them
are Salsazucar weekend in Copenhagen, three seperate salsa weekends
with Osiel Ibañez (former Sacuye Latin Dancers), Ibi Regueira
& Marina Prada (Sacuye Latin Dancers) and Ociel Ogalde &
Pilar Anturi (Stockholm Salsa Dancers)
I have also been on salsa on the day of salsa in Gothenburg, Salsaweekend
on Tangopalatset in Malmo, the Scandinavian Salsa Congress in
Gothenburg 2006 and Cannes salsa festival 2006
I
get inspierd by the "great names" in the world. One
can learn a lot just by watching, analysing och trying to copy.
My dream as a teacher is to try to get a little of the sensation
from the big salsa world into the local salsa teachings. Atmosphere,
dance culture and inspiration are things we all can take to our
hearts even though we are far away from New York and LA
