Michaela Sorle

PrickMy name is Michaela Sorle and I was born and raised in Malmo. At the moment I'm studying economics in Lund and working part time as a model, dancer and as a dance instructor

PrickDancing has been a big and an important part of my life. I started with ballet at an early age. After been dancing and performing for several years I felt I needed to expand my dance. I then started with Show Jazz and streetfunk. There were a lot of performances at different events, including the Malmofestival

PrickAs long as I can remember I have always had an interest in the Spanish language and the Latin-American music. While performing with my dance groups we have often used segments of salsa in our choreographs. It wasn't until the summer of 2005 that I decided to really start learning salsa. I was performing on a live broadcast in Warsaw (my photo was taken there) and during the preperations the weeks before the broadcast I then came in contact with salsa. As soon as I came home I applied to Salsa Sabrosa Dance School, and I have been hooked ever since!

PrickToday I also dance other dances above salsa, ballet and oriental dance. One of my greatest source of inspiration is my dance partner Jesse Shuja who helps me fine tune my salsa and teaches me a lot about Latin-American music and dance history. One of my dreams is to one day visit Cuba and further my knowledge of salsa and to really get a taste of the Cuban culture

PrickI try to visit all the salsa clubs as frequently as possible, it is as important as it is fun for me to apply my skills and to get inspired by others. The salsa music and the dance brings forth joy, excitement, spirit and lots of positive energy, no matter if you are a beginner or a professional. This is what I want to encourage to everyone who yet haven't experinced the wonders of the salsa world
