Salsa
Sabrosa Danceschool in the south of Sweden was founded by Robin
and Lisa in 2000. The school now have 20 teachers with 30 ongoing
courses and over 400 students in the cities of Lund and Malmö.
Robin and Lisa have produced two Salsa instruction DVD:s and Salsa
Rhythm CD:s both on1 and on2
The
school embraces and teaches all Salsa styles and also other dances
like Reggaeton, African dance and Samba. They try to give their
students a broad repertoire that will work just as well in Sweden
as in, lets say, Latin America or New York or wherever you would
want to dance
Lisa
has been dancing Jazz since the age of ten. In 1998 she started
with Salsa. Robin has been dancing Street dance, Disco, Foxtrot,
Waltz and Tango, and he too started with Salsa in 1998. They both
love to work with body movement/technique in combination with
movement across the dance floor. Another detail always in focus
is timing. Their main goal with their efforts is to try to give
joy, spontaneity, energy, companionship and body knowledge to
people wherever they go
My
original source of inspiration and teacher is Juan
Carlos Ramirez from Cuba. I have had over 220 hours of dance
training with Juan Carlos. The dance training has mainly been
focused on salsa, son and rumba but also merengue, chachacha and
mambo. Before I started with salsa I was already interested in
dance (jazz, disco, foxtrot, waltz, tango, swing and Swedish lindy
hop) and to this day I still haven't seen anyone with such a feeling
and dance technique as Juan Carlos. With focus on technique and
feeling for details he brings forth the character and beauty in
every dance. This is what inspires me and this is what I want
to provide. I work a lot on the movements of the body in combination
with movements on the dance floor. All this to create swing and
timing to the music
I
have taken private lessons in carnival samba for Maria De Souza
from Stockholm and I have participated in workshops in samba held
by Juan Manzano from Malmo
I
have participated in several courses in riosamba and samba reggae
for Isa from Brazil (Approximately 40 hours)
I
have participated in several big salsa congresses such as Hot
Salsa Weekend in Stockholm (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006), Amsterdam
(2002) and Helsingborg (2003, 2004) and the Scandinavian Salsa
Congress in Gothenburg (2006)
I have participated in workshops held by Pablo Trujillo, Tropical
Gem, Manuel Mascarell, Frankie Martinez, Griselle Ponce, Johnny
& Francisco Vasquez, Leon Rose, Susana Montero and Super Mario
among others
Me
and Lisa started Salsa Sabrosa Dance School together in January
2000
I
have been teaching full time since january 2000 (you can find
pictures from our courses in the photo gallery). Both my own courses
and on workshops, cultural and theme events on youth centers,
schools and companies
I

like shows, kick offs, samba trains, carnival trains and mini

The group has done a lot of shows such as at Pinsekarnevalen in

2006), Kulturnatten in Lund (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) and Hot Salsa
Weekend in Stockholm (2002, 2003, 2005)
Me
and Lisa were both responsible and arranged the Latin evening
on Arenan on Stortoget during the Malmo festival (2002, 2003,
2004, 2005, 2006). In 2005 this event was mentioned in the resumé
for the Malmo festival as the most crowd drawing stage
